Our Bamboo Palm Cacti Combo

If you follow us you’re probably like wait haven’t I seen this before. Close but not really, our other combo was the Dracaena and this is the Bamboo Palm. And although the Dracaena looks like a palm it is closer to the agave and yucca family. The Bamboo Palm is actually a palm however the care is easy you can leave it in an indirect to shaded corner and it will thrive. It is a type of Palm from the Chamaedorea genus, they grow in the subtropical regions of Asia, Africa, and Latin America. As a subtropical plant they tend to like filtered light and shade and of course pure water. As recommended we suggest never using tap water with your plants and we are following suit here. If you can use rainwater, or distilled water then do so the only problem with using distilled water is you may have to fertilize your plants at least once a month. Fortunately the Bamboo Palm isn’t a nutrient drainer so a small amount once to every two months should be fine. However I wouldn’t fixate on fertilizer just find the right spot and allow it to be in it’s space.

This is why we combined it with the slow growing Cacti. Now our favorite part, the symbology and the properties of the Bamboo Palm and the Cacti. The Cactus essential properties are protection, healing, clarity and strength. They are very good at helping you deal with self-sabatoge and warding off intruders with ill will. This is why you’ll see many a cacti in small office spaces. Just in case you have a coworker who may have ill will against you. The Palm has always been a symbol for many cultures. In ancient Egypt The Palm represented immortality. In cultures close to Egypt or influenced by her The Palm branch or fond is a symbol of victory, triumph, and peace. They even named a Sunday after it. So we have combined these two plants to give you protection and clarity along with victory, triumph, and peace. Again we suggest placing this plant on your desk where you have a challenging co-worker or over your shoulder in a Zoom call it will convey that yes you are being protected but you goal is success

Again going over basic care, indirect too low light, I would even suggest six hours shade six hours indirect light if you can find the spot. If you keep this plant on your desk try to keep it away from the light. This may sound strange but if you work a 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday we suggest even putting this plant under your desk a couple a times a week.
