Cacti Ubiquity, Succulent Pervasivness

Yes, if you live in Southern California succulents and cacti are everywhere, even in coffee shops. And in our humble opinion there need to be more of them especially in the place of water guzzling lawns that may be even more pervasive than the cacti/succulents of which we speak, however that is for another post and time. There is enough info on line about cacti/succulents and their care that we won’t go into too much detail about doing just that. We will only suggest what to do with ours. Water every two weeks, with filtered water if possible, place in indirect light preferably morning light. If you have you cacti/succulent in a home or office with minimum light, see if you can take your plant out once a week in the early morning or late evening and gather a few rays every now and then. If it is a Combo Cacti/Succulent we suggest giving the plant as much indirect sunlight as possible, again early morning or late evening light.

As you may well already know cacti are one of the easiest plants to take care of, the common cause of dis-ease is over watering, so it is better to underwater than overwater.

Cacti/Succulents in many mystic cultures and circles are thought to bring about protective, healing, clarity, and strength energies. So they are good to have around in places like the office or the home office. They are also great to have in the background if you do a lot of zoom calls for business. They convey that you are serious and protective of you reputation and purpose.

So if you’ve bought one of our cacti/succulent or combos and they are in a textured pot you may be wondering why they are like this. Well we are big fans of Wabi-Sabi here at TajAthO’s Garden. The philosophy of Wabi-Sabi can be paraphrased by this quote, “nothing is forever, nothing is perfect, nothing is finished.” This is why we place so many of our plants in these repurposed/recycled pots so that we can see the beauty in imperfection. And the closest thing to perfection in our opinion is a plant. We want our plants to stand out, like roses growing through concrete.

If you meditate on the plant, we believe you will be able to reflect on yourself and the beauty that truly lies with in. We suggest that if you have a true intention use the plant to meditate on said intention and as you nurture the plant see it as process to nurture your intention. In other words as you care for the plant you are caring for your intention.

We hope you enjoy, you Cacti or Succulent or Combo of the two, if you have any questions or want to know more feel free to contact us here. Please follow us here and we look forward to hearing from you.
