Aloe Vera…Here, There, and With You.

First we like to thank you for taking the time to read this, if you are at one of the places we service, or buying the plant from us directly we appreciate you. The Aloe Vera plant is one of the easiest plants to care for you just have to let it establish itself. In the right place.

The Aloe Vera plant does well in bright indirect light, and loves dry soil so water Aloe Vera sparingly. This plant is used to hot dry climates this doesn’t mean that it should be placed in direct sunlight. Too much light will discolor the leaves and may cause the leaves to burn which is irreversible. Keep the Aloe plant away from drafty conditions especially in the winter. Avoid heating or air conditioning vents. How ever try to keep them in an ideal place where the temperature doesn’t go below 55 degrees.

Overwatering is the most common problem and mushy leaves will be the result of that. If the leaves are breaking it means the plant isn’t getting enough light. Remember Aloe is a succulent and in the leaves is where succulents store there water. The leaves should never be mushy and never break. You won’t need to replant the plant for a while and if and when try to keep as much of the original soil on it as possible and then place the Aloe in the new soil as you work it in.

Aloe is thought to have medicinal properties, the gel in the leaf of an Aloe Vera plant is thought to be salve for minor burns and mixed with other natural ingredients can be made into a moisturizer. Aloe can also be made into a juice, which is said to be rich in antioxidants and antibacterial properties.

The magical properties are thought to be are thought to be those of protection, Aloe by your front door or placed in front of area where you don’t want unwanted energies is a well placed guard. We like to place a dab of Aloe between our brows before meditation. Not only from the cooling affect but to protect us from our own ignorance and doubt.
